Two PhD positions intestine on chip

Wageningen University & Research (WUR) Two PhD positions intestine on chip Click here to respond We are looking for Do you want to study how intestinal stem cells can be used in Organ-on-Chip technology and used in toxicological studies? Do you want to understand how nutrients and chemicals in our food interact with the intestinal epithelium and immune system? Are you motivated to work in an interdisciplinary team of scientists embedded in an ambitions Dutch research consortium? We have two PhD positions that combine intestinal stem cell biology with immunology in...

Open PhD student position in Si/polymer-based Organs-on-Chip technology

Electronic Components, Technology and Materials (ECTM)Department of Microelectronics, Delft University of Technology Open PhD student position inSi/polymer-based Organs-on-Chip technology Within the LymphChip project funded by NWO, the ECTM group at TU Delft is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated PhD student to investigate and develop innovative sensors and microactuators for Organs-on-Chip devices. OoCs are microfluidic cell culture devices that recapitulate in vivo-like microenvironments to support the expression of properties and functions of human tissues and organs. Such...

hDMT meeting

LymphChip project is presented during the annual hDMT Consortium meeting, November 12th, 2021

On November 12, 2021 Dr Valeria Orlova the project leader of LymphChip will present the LympChip consortium to the members of hDMT. She will highlight the objectives of the three research themes on technology development, on the generation of the hiPSC-derived tissue specific cells and on the integration to ultimately lead to functional organs on chip with integrated vasculature and lymphatics for heart, intestine and skin/lymph nodes.

NWA-ORC grant for Organ-on-Chip models with integrated lymphatics

A 5 million Euro NWA-ORC grant was awarded to hDMT researchers to develop immunocompetent human Organ-on-Chip models with integrated lymph drainage for drug discovery and testing (LymphChip). The project is led by Valeria Orlova (coordinator) from Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC), Christine Mummery (LUMC) and Sue Gibbs (VUMC). The lymphatic system plays a crucial role in our immune system, for example by regulating the immune response to pathogens. Lymphatic dysfunction underlies many diseases and could determine the effectiveness of therapies, whether drug or stem-cell...
