Inaugural Lecture – Prof.dr. Andries van der Meer

oktober 2, 2025

On Thursday, October 2, 2025, Prof.dr. Andries van der Meer, Professor of Microphysiological Systems at the University of Twente, delivered his inaugural lecture titled “Orgaan-op-een-Chip” on the campus of the University of Twente.

Prof. van der Meer is internationally recognized for his pioneering work in Organs-on-Chips, microengineered devices that mimic the structure and function of human organs. His research focuses on integrating blood vessels into these models, enabling more realistic simulations of human physiology and disease.

Within the LymphChip consortium, Prof. van der Meer plays a leading role in contributing to the development of fit-for-purpose technologies that integrate lymphatic and immune systems into organ-on-chip platforms. His expertise in microfluidic chip development and tissue engineering is instrumental in advancing the consortium’s mission to create next-generation models for immune-related diseases.

The LymphChip consortium congratulates Prof. van der Meer on this milestone and looks forward to continued collaboration in shaping the future of organ-on-chip research.”
